About this Cause

Our schools are in crisis. Students show up too stressed to learn while at the same time, teachers are at their breaking point. Gap Relief's school-based program, T.I.E.R.S. (Trauma Informed Educators Reaching Students) is changing the narrative and making a difference through brain regulation for students and giving teachers strategies to prevent burnout. Through this program, our trauma-care professionals are teaching K-12 educators how to manage their own stress and support student stress management for effective learning spaces. Every teacher we train becomes a healing force for hundreds of students over their career - turning classrooms from places of stress into spaces of safety and learning for generations of vulnerable children. Amazing progress is happening in our 12 NWA partner schools where hundreds of teachers and thousands of students are finding stability and building resilience. $50,000 by December 31st ensures we can complete what we've started through Spring Semester 2026: $50 - Teacher encouragement gifts $100 - Sensory bag for one student to stay calm & focused $200 - Sandtray kit for one counselor $400 - Principal consultations $1,600 - School-wide training to equip all staff $4,400 - Year-long teacher support to prevent burnout $40,000 - Complete school transformation creating safe learning spaces Thanks to $450,000 in grants from the Walton Family Foundation and $50,146 from generous donors, we're 91% funded. We're only $50,000 away from ensuring these vulnerable students get the full year of support they deserve. Will you join us in closing this gap?
